Editing the Autorun Menu
On Windows systems with Autorun enabled, the EDU-Nix Dual Mode CD will present the user with a menu of available software to install when the CD is inserted. This is a desirable feature to mimic, as some users are not familiar with software installation routines in general.
When remastering your own CD, whether it is to add updated versions or new ⁄ different programs, it will probably be desirable to edit the Autorun Menu Options to reflect your changes. The EDU-Nix Dual Mode CD uses the CuteStarter Autorun System.
- Copy the contents of the EDU-Nix Dual Mode CD to your hard drive.
- Rename the "dontedit.txt" file to "edit.txt". (if no such file exists, simply create a file called "edit.txt" in the autorun directory).
- Run autorun.exe, when it sees that edit.txt exists it will be in edit mode, allowing you to add, delete or edit items and dialog titles. Have fun
If you want to start from scratch, delete the autorun folder and execute autorun.exe - it will create the necessary files and begin in edit mode.
